HH/GH anticipated work Headhouse/Greenhouse Site Work PARKING: 15,000 SF of new parking lot as well as landscaping, sidewalk and other site improvements; 25 Parking spaces; vehicle access from new connector road (by NIC).
STORM: Runoff from the site area will be accomplished via a combination of surface drainage and a storm sewer system that consists of inlets and underground storm pipe.
SANITARY: Proposed sanitary sewer main improvements (by NIC) will extend the existing sanitary sewer main along the south side of the NIC property. The HHGH and LOB will have separate service mains that will tie into this new sewer.
MECHANICAL: Nebraska Innovation Campus criteria call for use of the Centralized Renewable Energy System (CRES) as a source of heat rejection/extraction. Individual service lines will route Southeast to serve the new facilities. HVAC and lab systems will be water cooled wherever suitable to use the CRES effectively.
ELECTRICAL: Electrical service will be provided by LES. It is presumed LES will set a new pad mount switch somewhere near the new service road that will run along the north side of the site. Underground conduits will be routed from the switch to a new LES provided pad mount transformer adjacent to the north side of the facility. There will be a generator located within a screened area of the facility and an additional pad for a future generator to serve the LOB.
HEADHOUSE ANTICIPATED WORK
SIZE: 10,140 GSF
The headhouse will be constructed with 12-inch loading-bearing precast panels with textured form liner exterior. Roofing framing will be steel bar joists. Windows will be prefinished aluminum. Interior walls will be 8-inch concrete masonry units with hollow metal doors and frames.
4,000 GSF of Plant Growth Room, office and greenhouse support areas Centralized Renewable Energy System (CRES) from the Nebraska Innovation Campus (NIC) will provide loop water to support heating/cooling loads of HHGH Will be physically connected to UNL Greenhouse Innovation Center greenHOUSE ANTICIPATED WORK SIZE: 15,000 GSF (5,000 Priority; 10,000 Non-Priority OPTION) The greenhouse structure will be milled aluminum capable of withstanding UV and condensation exposure. All coverings (wall and roof panels) will be 4-ft wide, EVONIC 16 mm ACYLITE Alltop high impact acrylic, clear, with 89% light transmittance and attached to the structure with mill finished aluminum glazing system. Columns will be mounted to an engineered foundation with stainless steel anchors set in epoxy.
The POR requires 13 zones. The Greenhouse will be constructed of one structure with 9 zones and second structure with 4 zones. All zones will be capable of transgenic research. The number of zones to be constructed will be designated by Bid Options to meet the budgetary restraints as design progresses.
Power supply for greenhouse will be within the headhouse and distributed to environmental contact panels located at each zone in the corridor. Water supply will be in the headhouse and distributed to each zone via corridor.
Air conditioning and heating will be supplied by ground mounted air handling units placed around the exterior of building. There will be one air handling unit for each zone. Cooling/heating equipment to serve the air handlers will be enclosed in the mechanical portion of the headhouse.
