Requests for Information #1
W9128F18Q0077, ATV/UTV Noxious Weed Spraying IDIQ
The following questions were submitted in response to the subject acquisition. Responses are provided to supplement the solicitation. No amendments or extensions will be issued as a result of these responses.
1. Does the government have an estimate on how many acres will be sprayed per year for each line time (ie. Canada Thistle Spraying, Leafy Spurge Spraying, Salt Cedar Spraying)?
Government’s Response: Please reference Technical Exhibit 3, Estimated Workload Data at page 37 of the solicitation. Note, these are estimates. Each task order will be written annually giving specific acreages for that particular year.
2. Are there sites around the reservoir that the government knows have weed problems and the government intends to use this contract to treat? Can we get a list of those areas so we have an idea of how many different sites may need to be visited to assist in calculating the likely amount of mobilization to include in bid. If the government is able to provide a list, how many acres would likely be sprayed at each site?
Government’s Response: This will vary from year to year because of environmental factors: elevation on reservoir, areas that were sprayed in previous years, and environmental conditions. The project will provide general areas of where larger infestations of noxious weeds are located, but will not provide specific maps of exact location and acreages to be sprayed.
3. Does the government have an estimate of the percentage of acres actually sprayed with chemical
vs. how many acres will be gridded and covered (ie. will task orders be issued where an area of 200 acres need to be covered and 50 acres actually sprayed, or if the 200 acres are identified will all of these acres be sprayed?)?
Government’s Response: The contractor will be paid by actual acres sprayed. Contractor will need to provide a KML (google earth) showing areas sprayed and will be verified. (see Specific Tasks pg 15-34 of solicitation).
4. Is the government intent for the contractor to bid based on being paid for only areas actually sprayed, or should we bid based on being paid on the number of acres covered even if not all acres covered are actually wetted with herbicide?
Government’s Response: See response to question 3.
