Question #1
The maximum flow rate for the Liquid Control 8" meter would be 1200 gpm.
-Are you sure of the flow rates you show as being 1400 gpm minimum and 2400 gpm maximum?
- If your flow rates are found to be that high, we will need to provide a different meter manufacturer.
Response #1
These are the flow rates provided to USACE by Langley AFB. Please consider that we have language in the PWS such that the contractor can provide Manufacturer A or approved equal. For Langley AFB we expect to see a manufacturer that is not Liquid Controls. Also, there is an average flow rate that lies between 1400 and 2400. It is up to the engineer of record to make the design decision.
Question #2
Has a contractor performed similar work to this for the government in the past? If available, please provide the incumbent contract number.
If you are unable to provide a contract number, is it safe to assume this is a new requirement for the government?
Response #2
A contractor has performed similar work to this for the government in the past. However, USACE, Omaha was not involved and does not have the information you are requesting.
