Amendment No. 0003 27 May 2009

SUBJECT: Amendment No. 0003 to Specifications and Drawings for Construction of Additional Pumping Capability, Williston Pumping Plant, Williston, North Dakota.

Solicitation No. W9128F 09 B 0012.

TO: Prospective Bidders and Others Concerned

1. The specifications and drawings for subject project are hereby modified as follows (revise all specification indices, attachment lists, and drawing indices accordingly).

a. Drawings (Not Reissued). The following drawing sheet is revised as indicated below with latest revision date of 27 May 2009. This drawing is not reissued with this amendment.

(1) Sheet S-101, add the following new notes to the list of

"General Notes":

“6. Expansion Joints shall be provided by a manufacturer regularly engaged in the manufacturer of expansion compensation products of the type and size required, whose products have been in satisfactory use in similar service for not less than five years. Product shall be in compliance with the standards of the Expansion Joint Manufacturer’s Association (EJMA). Expansion joints shall have a rated pressure of at least 30 psi and accommodate a minimum of 1 inch longitudinal movement. Expansion joints shall be single-end fabricated steel mechanical slip-type conforming to AWWA C221, carbon steel or stainless steel. Packing shall be an asbestos-free compound. Packless bellows expansion joints may be submitted for approval in lieu of slip-type joints.

Bellows shall be ASTM A240 T304 stainless steel laminated with flanged connections conforming to ANSI B16.5 with a minimum warranted life of 10,000 full-stroke cycles.

b. Drawings (New). The following new drawing sheet dated 27 May 2009 is hereby added to the contract drawings and is issued with this amendment.

(1) Sheet B-101.

2. This amendment is a part of the bidding papers and its receipt shall be acknowledged on the Standard Form 1442. All other conditions and requirements of the specifications remain unchanged. If the bids have been mailed prior to receiving this amendment, you will notify the office where bids are opened, in the specified manner, immediately of its receipt and of any changes in your bid

Am #0003 - 2 occasioned thereby.

a. Hand-Carried Bids shall be delivered to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, Contracting Division, 1616 Capitol Avenue, Omaha, Nebraska 68102-4901.

b. Mailed Bids shall be addressed as noted in Item 8 on Page 00010-1 of Standard Form 1442.

3. Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m., local time at place of bid opening, 04 Jun 2009.
