REQUEST FOR INFORMATION, SOLICITATION NUMBER W9127S19Q0005
.) How wet will the dredging material be? Although the materials placed in the dumpsters will have small amounts of trash (plastic bottles, foam cups, plastic toys, balls, etc.), it will mostly of consist of mud, driftwood, and sometimes small amounts of lumber. It will be very wet, and at times the dumpsters will have standing water in them if the water can’t find a way out. Because of this, the crane operator typically only loads the dumpsters about half full. We have worked with the drivers in the past to not overload their trucks when leaving the jobsite.
.) Any free liquids? I am assuming this refers to liquids outside a container. The only liquid would be water, and there is some standing water that gets trapped in the clamshell of the crane that is transported to the dumpsters. If this water doesn’t find a hole or crack in the dumpster to drain out, it will pool in the dumpster.
.) And you need transportation and disposal? We are requiring disposal of the material along with transport. Once the material leaves the worksite, it will be the contractor’s responsibility to dispose of it.
.) Is there any further information you can provide on the dumpsters themselves? Currently, the solicitation lists only 40 Yard Dumpsters: We are looking for a typical roll-off style dumpster, with 40 yard capacity. Dumpsters are left on site while being loaded. Once full, they are picked up, and transported by the contractor. It will be the responsibility of the contractor dispose of the contents offsite in a legal manner.
.) Is this a new contract, or can you provide me information on the incumbent (including the contract number? The last contract was with RAMCO Environmental, for an annual cost of $19,600.00, or 28 loads (dumpsters) at $700 each. For more information pertaining to this contract, you’ll need to submit a FOIA request to: CESWL-FOIA @usace.army.mil.
.) Can you verify the period of performance for CLIN 2002? The CORRECT period of performance for CLIN 2002, is listed on page 1 of the solicitation. It was typed incorrectly on page 6 of the solicitation. It will be corrected at time of award.
