About this file
This is a questions and answers document for solicitation W9127825Q0003 regarding the procurement of a forklift for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' SAM warehouse in Mobile, AL.
The Q&A clarifies several technical specifications: the forklift requires a 189" Triple Stage Mast, fork length between 42-54", and tires capable of maneuvering on concrete, asphalt and gravel (non-slip grip or pneumatic tires). Ten employees need training, though formal certification is only required if included with the purchase. The battery roll/slide out tray is optional since frequent battery swaps aren't planned. Power requirements include 110/220V voltage with 3-prong outlet plugs, though the phase type is unknown. Delivery location is confirmed as 1242 Montlimar Drive (Warehouse), with USACE as both the bill-to and sold-to entity.

Bidder question and Gov answer
1. How many employees are expected to participate in the training session?
Gov answer: We have 10 people who need the training.
2. Do the employees need to receive formal forklift operator certification as part of the training, or will the training focus solely on operational instructions for the equipment?
Gov answer: We will take any additional training that comes with the purchase of the lift. If there is no training provided then we do not need any additional training/certification.
3. Mast: Lines 30 & 35, reflects a Two Stage Mast with a 114” lift height and another line reflects 189” Duplex Mast (the specs given for the 189” Duplex Mast is actually the specifications for a Triple Stage Mast). Would you rather have a 114” lift height Two Stage Mast or a 189” Triple Stage Mast?
Gov answer: Mast 189
4. Line 33, Fork length is stated at 54” length or a minimum of 42”. Do you have a preference on the fork length.
Gov answer: Minimum of 42” to 54” is perferred
5. Line 4, Battery Roll/slide out battery tray with underside lifting bar. Normally Battery Roll/Slide out battery trays are useful in high volume areas where batteries are being swapped out on a regular basis. For an operation where the battery will not be swapped out, then the extra expense of the Roll/slide out battery tray usually isn’t needed. Please let me know your thoughts on this subject.
Gov answer: There is no plan to swap batteries constantly, so if the slide out is not available we will still consider the quote.

10. What is the voltage available at the location?
Gov answer: 110/220
11. Phase: Is the power source single-phase or three-phase?
Gov answer: Unknown
12. Connection Type: Are there any Specific connector or outlet requirements?
