About this file

This document outlines environmental protection requirements for a construction project at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland Ambulatory Care Center. The contractor must minimize environmental pollution and damage during all construction activities by controlling dust, air pollution, odors, and stormwater runoff. The contractor must develop plans for solid waste management, hazardous waste handling, and preventing pollution from equipment maintenance and fuel storage. The contractor will require permits for stormwater management and must coordinate all activities with the base's environmental offices, including permitting for work with wastewater, potable water systems, storage tanks, and areas requiring special protections like wetlands or the Edwards Aquifer. The contractor must also manage waste from activities with asbestos, lead-based paint, ozone-depleting substances, and other toxic materials according to regulatory standards.
