About this file
This document contains three questions and answers related to Request for Information W9124PMCAS for a Missile Control Actuation System. The RFI is seeking information to support development of a notional motor/missile design for integration of a control actuation system solution. Respondents with an off-the-shelf system would not need to provide a development schedule or cost estimate, but should include a rough order of magnitude for integration activities. The RFI is associated with opportunity GM-24-01-09 for project PIT VIPER. A secure file transfer method is available for submitting whitepaper responses via a link to the https://safe.apps.mil/ website.

1. If our off-the-shelf CAS offerings meet requirements without modifications do we need to propose a development schedule and ROM NRE cost to fulfill section #7 in the whitepaper? If ROM NRE
/ recurring is required, is there a SOW, PoP, and quantities to deliver?
Answer: If they have something off the shelf, then no ROM, schedule, or milestones are required for any CAS development activities. However, it would be nice to see a ROM for working with AvMC to integrate their solution into a missile. The design for the motor/missile is notional at this point, so we would essentially be starting from scratch from an integration perspective.
In the event they would have to mature technologies, I do not have a SOW. If an effort were to be initiated, there would be a 24–30 month timeline to mature technologies, integrate with a missile and conduct a minimum of 2 but no more than 4 flight tests. We would also require up to 3 units for laboratory testing/integration efforts and an inert missile build up.
2. Is this RFI for CAS the same as AMTC / DEVCOM AvMC RFI GM-24-01-08?
Answer: This CAS is associated with GM-24-01-09 (PIT VIPER).
3. Is there a more secure means of sending the whitepaper instead of email?
Answer: Yes; when you are prepared to send your response to the RFI, I can request a file drop off through https://safe.apps.mil/. A link will be sent with a location as to where the files may be uploaded and delivered directly to myself.
