About this file

This document is a Sources Sought Notice Question and Answer (Q&A) for U.S. Army Retired Lapel Pins, currently in the market research phase. The government is seeking a vendor to manufacture "Soldier for Life" heraldic lapel pins, with strict requirements that all production must occur domestically by a vendor certified by The Institute of Heraldry (TIOH). Delivery will involve quarterly shipments to approximately 59 U.S. Army installations, including CONUS and OCONUS locations, as well as Army Reserve and National Guard distribution points.

The procurement timeline indicates the government anticipates releasing a solicitation within 30-90 days, depending on market research results. This is not a formal solicitation, and no pricing or quotes are being requested at this time. Potential vendors must direct all inquiries to the Contract Specialist listed in the SAM.gov announcement and are prohibited from contacting IMCOM or TIOH directly. Interested manufacturers must be TIOH-certified and able to produce the controlled heraldic insignia according to TIOH Quality Control Program standards.
