SPECIFICATIONS
Glass Breaker and Single Stream Sorting System for the Fort Knox Recycle Center
1. General
The purchase of a Glass Breaker and Trommel system is to sort glass and ferrous metal containers from the single stream recyclables collected at Fort Knox. This shall increase the value of the baled plastics and aluminum and increase the overall proficiency of the recycle operation and insure that these commodities are diverted from the landfill.
2.0. Equipment to be purchased
2.1 Metering surge hopper-shall receive all materials to be sorted and insure a controlled flow into the system. Hopper must be capable of receiving materials via a 2.0 yard bucket.
2.2 ln feed conveyor- must be capable of feeding the Glass Breaker. Length and pitch must provide a consistent flow into the Glass Breaker with a maximum building ceiling height of 22 ft.
2.3 Cross belt magnet Model 24 CBS – removes ferrous metals.
2.4 Glass Breaker and single stream sorting system, the Andela Breaker- Heavy Duty (AGB-06HD). Design of this piece of equipment with its flex arms, is to not destroy plastics and metals while processing the glass. By maintaining the original integrity of the plastics and metals, the contamination of the glass is reduced, and the value of the remaining items is retained.
2.5 24 inch belt by 22 feet long conveyor.
2.6 Paper removal blower assembly to remove paper scrap.
2.7 Service platform for service and maintenance of the trommel system.
2.8 Electrical enclosure and control panel.
2.9 Due to building space limitations, this system configuration fits a very physically restrictive space and no deviations for proposed equipment shall be acceptable without prior approval.
3.0 Services and technical support requirements.
3.1 Delivery must be included from origin to the Fort Knox Recycle Center located at 309 Frazier Road, Fort Knox, KY.
3.2 Turn Key Installation into Build i ng 2952.
3.3 Initial operator/maintenance certification and training to all operators and maintenance personnel to be included.
3.4 Provide all operator/parts/service/and maintenance manuals and schematics upon delivery.
5.0 Deliverables:
5.1 Contractor is to provide a time line for the delivery of the entire turnkey operation to the Fort Knox Qualified Recycle Program.
5.2 All equipment as detailed in the description in paragraph 2.0 shall be provided and installed.
5.3 Contractor shall provide initial operator/maintenance certification and training to all operators and maintenance personnel.
