W91243-21-Q-TB05 Amendment 02 - Questions and Answers
We have to capability to do each location in one day each, can the schedule be modified to be 1 day in Hastings and 1 day in Lincoln?
The selected vendor and the Occupational Health Nurse will collaborate to develop a schedule. If the vendor is able to complete exams on all employees in one day the Occupational Health Nurse will do their best to get all employees schedule for that one day. Some of the employees will require travel so the earlier the collaboration is initiated the more likely that the exams could be completed in one day at each location. Five days is maximum.
Reference-8.1 states the government will provide no resources or facilities. Please confirm we are not able to use any regular 110V outlets nor bathrooms.
Bathrooms will be available at each location for urine collection and regular use. Past vendors requested a single room be available to complete the fit-testing portion of the exam. If that is a request of the vendor, the Occupational Health Nurse will work with the location POCs to make a room available.
Reference-3.4 Can the exam be done by a PA/NP and signed off by a Certified Occupational Medicine Physician or a Physician that has a background in Internal Medicine and has at lest 3 years of experience working with Occupational Medicine?
Yes. The exam will need to be signed off by the PA/NP for completion of the exam and signed by the Physician to confirm recommendations provided to the employee.
Reference-4.7 Historically, in the other states we do Occ Health exams, labs sometimes include Benzene, Lead/ZPP, Chromium and Cadmium. Please confirm these are not required.
Most of those test are not required at this time. Based on our most recent Industrial Hygiene (IH) surveys we only have a few that will require lead/zpp lab test. The other labs could become a requirement in the future based on new IH surveys, but are not required this year.
5 Are the dates set in stone, and if not, what is the latest we could perform the services?
Amendment has been published to allow alternate dates. Submitting multiple dates is encouraged.
6 Is the pulmonary function mandatory?
Pulmonary function test/spirometry and fit testing is mandatory for all employees that require a respirator.
7 Why do you need 5 days. We could perform all testing for each site in one day.
Testing does not have to be 5 days in length if the vendor and the Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) are able to create a schedule that completes the exams in fewer days. Some of the employees will have to travel to the testing locations and many of the employees have specific work hours which is why coordination between the vendor and the OHN is vital. Five days is the maximum time frame.
