Mariposa Dam Spillway Road Repair Questions and Answers

W9123824Q0019

1. I was looking into the Quality Control requirements for the Mariposa Dam Spillway Road Repair

Project and noticed that the only listed requirements were for the earthworks/base material surrounding the culverts. I did not see any compaction requirements or anything for the actual roadway repairs. Am I correct in assuming no materials testing or compaction testing is required for these roadways or am I missing something?

Review PWS 2.1.2.1 in the solicitation.

2. Is Task 2 going to be implemented?

Task 2 is optional and will be exercised at the discretion of the Government.

3. RFP section 2.1.1 states “…except for material around the conduits.” Is this a mistake referencing to the culverts or is there utility conduits within the roadway?

Culverts are shown in the photo Map C.1 for 2.1.1.

4. Can you provide required spec for clay backfill and road base?

See answer to question 1.

5. Can you provide required spec for woven geotextile fabric?

The type of woven geotextile fabric is up to the contractor.

6. Please provide cross section diagram for Task 1.

No diagram was provided. See answer to question 1.

7. Regarding Task 1, what is the required thickness for the Class III base rock and asphalt?

See answer to question 1.

8. Regarding Task 2, what is the required thickness for the Class III base rock?

See: PWS 2.1.3.1 The finished road repairs will support 55,000 pounds without damage and be reinforced with riprap 18-24 inches, 6 feet in depth on the stream side of the roadway to the height of the finished road section.
