Questions & Answers Englebright Large Woody Debris Collection and Placement

W91232823Q0069

1. Are there restrictions and requirements for weather and the rivers current flow? For example if we have a heavy winter and the contract deadline is in the spring, will the contractor be allowed by the US Army Corps of Engineers to work on the project while the river is in a high water flow state?

All work must be completed by 31 December. The contractor can work during periods of high river flow.

2. Page 44 of the solicitation states "The Contractor shall acquire 430 Cubic yards of LWM". If the LWM is brought in a truck and trailer will the cubic yard measurement be based off the dimensions of the truck and trailer or the material itself. For example, if a 40-yard trailer is full of root wads there will be a significant amount of airspace resulting in less than 40 yards of material.

Volume metric measurement is based on the dimensions of a full truck and/or trailer, not the material.

3. Page 44 of the solicitation states "Rootwads are acceptable". Are rootwads required or can the contractor bring LWM only in the form of logs as long as it meets the size specifications?

In accordance with PWS, Part B.3 - A combination of tree trunks and rootwads are “acceptable”, but rootwads are not required.

4. Page 44 of the solicitation states "The Contractor must provide documentation on where the LWM was sourced". Is there prohibited sources for acquiring the

LWM?

In accordance with PWS section B3, all LWM must be within the Yuba Watershed.

5. Is there a species requirement for the LWM? For example, will pine be accepted or is cedar required?

The PWS is silent on species requirements therefore there are no species requirements.
