The vessel and trailer configuration, balance and construction must be stable and maneuverable at all speeds in various wind, water, depth or wave conditions which are normally encountered in the waterways of Terminus Dam/Lake Kaweah.
These conditions will vary from flat to 2ft. to 5ft. choppy waves from weather and boating traffic.
The following requirements listed are general specifications. It should be noted that this vessel will primarily be used as a maintenance and rescue vessel. All of these waterways require a planning vessel which has a shallow draft as water levels can rapidly fluctuate from a depth of several feet to just a few inches for the type of operation and conditions for which the vessel will be subjected. All components, materials and design practices will be selected to give maximum performance, service life and safety.
General Specifications:
Vessel design shall be a Tritoon Work Barge or equivalent to include:
1. A minimum of 30 feet in length and a maximum of 35 feet in length with a minimum of 10 feet wide and a maximum 11 feet.
2. A minimum of 2, 30-inch-wide pontoon tubes with a slight vee for better performance and buoyancy. A bulkhead is requested no less than every 48 inches throughout the tubes.
3. A heavy-duty rub-rail shall be installed around the entire edge of the vessel.
4. A fixed aluminum latter ladder shall be on the stern of the vessel.
5. A davit arm with the capacity to lift 1000 pounds and a minimum of 6-foot reach, mounted to the starboard bow of the vessel.
