Government response to contractor questions.
We are interested in the project but not able to make the walk through. Is the LWM log length? It states in the solicitation the LWM will be placed in a “complex” arrangement. Is that a random placement or is there a spec for that. Also is it fastened or placed and done?
1. Yes, the wood is log length, but some is shorter and we would also like to find some logs with root wads attached or stumps to intermix with the logs.
2. We call for complex structures. Basically, this means they take several logs and stumps or root wads and pile them into a structure. Longer logs without root wads might be placed by digging a hole so part of the log can be buried to better stabilize it. Then other logs placed around it. No fastening or cabling of the logs.
