Responses to RFIs for Solicitation # W91236‐16‐T‐0007
"Q1‐ Does the contractor supply the products. Naled and Bti or the Army Corps of Engineers?"
A1‐ The contractor supplies and handles the chemicals as part of the contract price ‐ the corps does not have the capacity to handle or store the chemicals used.
It is important to note that the award of a contract does not guarantee the work (we order work off the line items as needed), which means the contractor must take into account the logistics involved with product supply.
"Q2‐ How much notice is provided for each application?"
A2‐ We usually go for a two day notice.
"Q3‐ What is the expected response time?"
A3‐ We work out a planned window for treatment with the contractor. As stated we are usually trying to get a two day turn around on treatments.
Due to the fact that the mosquito lifecycle is so short, we can easily miss the proper treatment window if the contractor is unable to respond quickly.
If weather conditions prevent treatment, we work out an alternative date with the contractor.
"Q4‐ Will adulticide be applied only at night, if so, during which hours?"
A4‐ Adulticide is limited to two hours before sunset or later.
"Q5‐ Will larvicide be applied in the daylight?"
A5‐ Larvicide application can be performed during the day.
