PROVIDE AND INSTALL FURNITURE AND EQUIPMENT

MILITARY ENTRANCE PROCESSING STATION (MEPS)

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

STATEMENT OF WORK

1.0 GENERAL

The Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral and medical standards required by the Department of Defense and the military services.

Every MEPS represents the state of the art in testing, examining and processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces. Each MEPS provides "red‐carpet" service to every applicant with personalized, efficient and professional attention.

Featuring modern facilities and equipment, today's modern MEPS bears little resemblance to the traditional image of the drab "Induction Station" known by previous generations of American soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen and Coast Guardsmen.

This procurement serves to provide the MEPS facility with furnishings and equipment to achieve these goals.

1.1 FACILITY INFORMATION

1.1.1 FURNITURE INSTALLATION LOCATION

The Contractor shall submit the plan to the Government for review within fourteen (14) calendar days from the Pre‐ installation Site Visit. Any size discrepancies between the manufacturer’s furniture items and the MEPS spaces shall be noted and brought to the attention of the Government.

1.3 SCHEDULE OF COMPLETION

Installation of furniture and equipment must be completed [with the exception of final punchlist items] within four (4) weeks from installation start. Installation start date will be based on the anticipated construction completion at the MEPS facility.

Request the shortest available manufacturing timeframe from the individual furniture manufacturers to expedite the period between furniture order and delivery.

After award and prior to the Pre‐Installation Site Visit, the Government will initiate a teleconference to establish a timeframe for the Contractor’s Pre‐Installation Site Visit. Timeframe for the site visit will be based on current construction status at the MEPS facility and the estimated date when interior drywall installation will be completed.

In addition, a furniture installation start date and end date will be determined based on the anticipated construction completion date. Start date will signify the date when furniture may be delivered to the project site. End date will signify the date when all furniture is installed and the building is ready for occupancy.

LEED for Commercial Interiors is the green benchmark for the tenant improvement market. It is the recognized system for certifying high‐performance green interiors that are healthy, productive places to work; are less costly to operate and maintain; and have a reduced environmental footprint. LEED for Commercial Interiors gives the power to make sustainable choices to tenants and designers, who do not always have control over whole building operations.

In an effort to support green initiatives and to assist in a LEED rating for Commercial Interiors, furniture and equipment must meet the following requirements.

Materials and Resources
