DRAFT – SOURCES SOUGHT
Salient Characteristics - UTS System Shelter include:
A. Floor Area:*TM Shelter floor range from approximately 400 – 720 sq. ft
B. Lights: (4 EA for adequate interior lighting) and convenience outlets design shall permit a minimum 6” diameter cable bundle to pass into the shelter without damage or alteration of the shelter fabric, exterior canopy, liner, or support structure. The lights shall be stored in cases designed in such a manner as to protect against elements, crushing and other damage that can happen during transport.
C. Require Floor: The shelter shall include a detachable/replaceable floor. Floor design/material shall be durable, resistant to puncture/tearing, and match the shelf and service life requirements per current MIL-PRF standards.
D. Flame resistance*: All fabric shall meet flame resistance performance characteristics of MIL-PRF-44103 Table I and MIL-PRF 44271
E. Doors: The basic shelter shall have a 2 doors offset on each side. Doors shall be not be narrower than 66”. The shelter must have the capability to connect to another shelter, or a military vehicle, on all four sides. It must be designed for a universal configuration; there must be a total of four doors; these permit the hookup of a vehicle or another tent.
F. Vectors Design shall prevent intrusion by flying or crawling insects/animals.
G. Blackout Capability The shelter shall have visible blackout capability. The shelter shall not be visible within 100 meters, 300 meters with the aid of NVGs
H. The shelter system shall not pose any ergonomic hazard to personnel; it shall be safe to set up, operate, store, and maintain.
I. HVAC supply/return ports: There shall be a set of HVAC supply/return ports at the both end walls of the shelter on each side to facilitate connecting single ECU/heater with minimum duct length.
J. External Shelter Frame: The shelter frame system must be capable of supporting both a standard fabric shade fly, and a Photovoltaic (PV) fly weighing up to 600 pounds one at a time, while maintaining an air gap for energy efficiency and meeting all environmental performance requirements. A single frame shall support both the shelter and fly.
K. The tent shall have two convenience liners with cable tracks to keep electrical and data wires off of the floor and prevent tripping, fire and operational issues.
L. Each tent unit requires two canopies draped over the top of the shelter frame and act as protective layers to mitigate the effects of environmental conditions and increase the efficiency of environmental control units. The canopies will conform to the top of the shelter frame and connect directly to the feet of the frame to ensure a secure attachment. The canopies must have a solid material on the top and mesh material on the sides to allow for consistent rain/snow run-off.
M. One boot connector is required where there is tent to HMMWV connection.
N. Each tent will be shipped from the manufacturer to the customer in secure, heavy-duty wooden crates.
O. The quantity requested is 13 (each) as a component to end item LIN: P63462 NSN: 6115-01-547-6738 requested to be delivered within 60 days.
