Question and Answer Document Airfield Striping and Concrete Repair
1. The specs mention hydro blasting but I do not see how much hydro blasting is required? Do you know?
A. It is the removal of the 6 Inch yellow line on both the Apron and the Alert
Ramp, which could be as much as 9800 LF.
2. Is the 200 LF of crack fill asphalt or concrete?
A. Concrete
3. I see the mention of Airfield Driver Training, AT Level 1 Training, etc. in the documents you sent over. Would we be required to have our employees complete these training courses? If so, do you have any idea as to the costs and/or hours they will require to complete?
A. I don't think any costs will exist and as far as training hours, I would say approximately 5 hours or more over a week or two time span. It really depends on the individual and how fast they can familiarize themselves with the local flight line and flight line procedures. AT Level 1 training is a CBT.
4. Typically after pressure washing the run off goes into the grass, is this acceptable?
A. If pressure washing creates Foreign Object Debris (FOD) on the airfield then the contractor is responsible for keeping the airfield FOD free (a.k.a sweeper). Airfield Management personnel to approve FOD free once complete with work. The contractor is also responsible for complying with any EPA and OSHA Regulations concerning runoff.
5. Can you take a picture of the concrete fractures?
A. Yes, Pictures will be posted to FBO.
