In addition, leaf, stick and debris removal will be performed at Site 3 to include all 125 campsites. Specific areas are designated on the map (Exhibit B).

Frequency. Leaf removal will normally be done at Sites 1 and 2 in the Fall between 15 October and 15 November and in the Spring between 15 March and 30 April. Site 3 will be in the Spring and completed by 30 April.

Removal. All leaves, sticks and debris shall be removed and disposed of, as specified in Section 11 – Environmental Protection. The location of the disposal area for leaves, sticks and debris is located on the right side of the one-way access road to the Boat Launch Recreation Area exactly 1 mile from the Maintenance Building and approximately .3 (three tenths) of a mile from the Boat Launch Parking Lot.

2.10. Trail Maintenance.

Chipping of the trails listed below will be done on an as needed basis according to trail usage but will not exceed 5,000 feet per year. Mulching will be done within the existing trail boundaries in specific areas only. See map (Exhibit B).

a) Summit Trail. Located directly adjacent to Project Control Tower parking lot.

Approximately 4557 feet long.

b) Plantation Trail. Location extends from the Summit Trail to the head of the Dam Site Trail, which is located on the exit road from the Boat Launch Area. Approximately 1981 feet long.

c) Dam Site Trail. The trail extends from exit road from the Boat Launch Area to Campsite #114 in the Tionesta Recreation Campground Area. Approximately 1271 feet long.

d) Mill Race Trail. The trail extends from the water tower in the Tionesta Recreation Area Campground to Campsite #88. Approximately 2380 feet long.

e) Creekside Trail. The trail extends from the Outflow Stilling Basin parking lot to the picnic pavilion located in the Outflow Recreation Area. Approximately 1389 feet long.

f) Information Loop – The trail begins and ends at the Information Center. This is a paved trail, so it does not get mulched. For information purposes only.

2.11 Tree Removal

a) Trees to be removed will be marked and numbered with a brightly colored paint. A map of these tree locations will be developed and given to the contractor before the start of the job. Since the most hazardous trees are removed each year, the location of these trees to be removed cannot be determined in advance from year to year.

2.12 Stump Removal.

a) Stumps to be removed will be marked and numbered with a brightly colored paint.

A map of these stump locations will be developed and given to the contractor before the start of the job. Since the most hazardous stumps are removed each year, the location of these stumps to be removed cannot be determined in advance from year to year.

12.1. Pesticide Application.

a. Pesticide application shall be applied each year to the rock surface area of the upstream and downstream slopes of the Dam. (Dam Site, Site 1). This includes the entire upstream face of the Dam and the right and left abutments, and the Toe of the downstream side of the Dam. All rock areas are to be treated in those areas shown on the map (Exhibit B). Approximate area includes 8.5 acres.

b. Pesticide application for Vegetation Control on Campsite Pads shall be applied each year to 125 graveled campsite parking pads within the Tionesta Recreation Area Campground with an approved herbicide for the purpose of vegetation control on campsite pads. It is recommended that Roundup Pro be utilized for vegetation control. A two percent (2%) application of Roundup Pro before mid-May will be applied. The mixing rate for a two percent (2%) solution of Roundup Pro is 2 gallons of the chemical to 100 gallons of water. It is applied at a rate of 100 gallons of mix per acre. It is recommended that a color dye, such as blue Blazon be utilized in order to see where the spray was applied. The applicator must be licensed by the State of Pennsylvania and must present adequate proof of licensing before given permission to operate on Corps land. Approximate area is about 3 acres. See Exhibit B for sample Annual Pesticide Control Plan application.
