About this file

This is a PLM Bulk Asbestos Analysis Report conducted by Micro Analytical Services, Inc. for Cherokee Nation 35, LLC regarding Building 114 Roof Top at Fort Bliss, Texas. The laboratory testing was performed using Polarized Light Microscopy with Dispersion Staining in accordance with EPA methods 40 CFR Appendix E to Subpart E of Part 763 and EPA-600/R-93/116 for determining asbestos in bulk building materials. The analysis was completed on May 21, 2025, under MAS Job Number 19800-00 by analyst Tony T. Dang at the NVLAP-accredited facility (Lab Code: 200618-0) and Texas-licensed laboratory (License No. 30-0341).

Six samples were collected and analyzed from the building's roofing materials, including three black fibrous roof shingle samples with pebbles (114-01 through 114-03) and three black fibrous roof penetration samples (114-04 through 114-06). All six samples tested negative for asbestos content. The roof shingle samples contained 30% aggregate, 30% fibrous glass, and 40% asphalt, while the roof penetration samples consisted of 20% aggregate, 30% cellulose, and 50% asphalt. The laboratory noted that samples would be retained for 30 days and that some materials, particularly floor tiles, may contain asbestos fibers too thin for detection by this method.
