SPECIFICATIONS - GARMENT BAG
1. SCOPE:
a. Bag is to be used for storage of dress type garments in a full length hanging position. When transporting garments, bag is to be capable of being folded in half and carried by using a handle.
b. All materials and construction methods used to be of acceptable commercial standards to meet the intended use and appearance of a high quality garment bag.
2. DIMENSIONS:
a. Full length: - 44 (+/-1) inches
b. Width: - 23 (+/-1/2) inches
c. Side widths: - 3 (+/-1/4) inches
3. MATERIALS:
a. Fabric
1. Exterior:
-1000 Denier Cordura Nylon
- Plain weave
- Polycoated backside
- Color – Cadet Gray (sample available)
2. Interior – Black 420 Denier Nylon
b. ID Card Holder/ID Card:
- Approximately 2” x 4”
- Attachable to garment handle
c. Zippers (2 each)
- Self-healing
- Black
- Lockable (Locks to be provided by vendor)
d. Thread:
- Black Nylon
e. Webbing:
- 1 ½” Wide black nylon for mid-section carrying handle.
- One (1”) wide black nylon for top handle, side fasteners, hanging hook loops, etc.
f. Hanging Hook: Metal “J” shaped for the top of bag to allow it to be hung full length.
4. DESIGN:
a. Exterior:
1. Center of Bag – Carrying handle is to be formed at the mid-section of the bag out of the 1 and ½” wide webbing. Webbing is to rim the width of the bag. Handle is to be padded.
– Center of bag is to be supported by a 1” wide, 1/8” steel bar set within the bag. The bar is to run the full length of the bag and be padded with foam.
2. Exterior Pocket – An exterior pocket is to be formed on the lower half of garment bag. It is to run the full width and be set approximately 5 ½” down from the carrying handle.
Pocket is to be opened and closed with a lockable zipper.
3. Side Loops and Clips – Using the 1” wide webbing, side loops with clips are to be set to hold the top and bottom of the bag together when folded and being transported by mid-section handle.
4. Top Construction – Top to be firmly supported/reinforced across entire bag width to assure no drooping occurs when carrying or hanging from top.
- Use the 1” wide webbing to form a carrying/hanging strap on the top of the bag.
- Construct the top to allow metal “J” hook to be joined and allow for easy hanging.
“J” hook must be able to be secured to bag so as not to dangle when bag is being transported. “J” hook is to be removable.
b. Interior:
1. Hanging System – A hanging system is to be set into the top of the bag where a multiple of hangers with garments can be hung.
2. Zipper – A full length lockable zipper is to be set vertically up the center of the interior
Lining.
3. Securing Strap – A strap is to be set to secure garments while transporting. A buckling device is to be used to easily close and open the straps.
5. Pictures – Attached pictures are representative of the basic features the garment bag must possess.

BAR CODING -- GARMENT BAGS
Each item shall be bar coded in accordance with the following characteristics:
1. Three (3) of nine (9) format,
2. Be affixed to each item so that it can be read without opening the package.
3. Be easily removed by the customer.
4. Remain intact while warehoused.
5. Size of label to be large enough to read, but not massive. Size to be relative to the size of the item. -- Estimated size: Two and a half inches by three and a half inches (2.5x 3.5).
6. Label shall be obviously displayed on each shipping carton.
7. Each bar code shall contain the following:
Barcode (with start and stop characters of *) Stock number Description and size (if applicable).
8. Sample label for format is included in this specification.
9. Sample label shall be submitted with each first article.
