1) Question: Is the inability to meet temp a new or ongoing issue?
Answer: In reference to the existing equipment: This seems to be an ongoing issue also the need for maintenance has increase with the older units.
2) Question: How old are the current units and the current booster heaters?
Answer: We checked with the building personal and most believe the units to be original. However, several of the boosters are less than a year old.
3) Question: What is the temperature of water supplied by each facilities hot water heaters to the boosters and the units?
Answer: We do not know. One of the kitchen personnel stated that the washing units are supplying a washing temperature of 110 degrees F and had to be run several times to get the appropriate temperature.
4) Question: Can you please clarify if the statement in the SOW “the dishwashers are not meeting heating requirements and therefore not meeting sanitation requirements” refers to rinse cycle, the wash cycle, or both?
Answer: Units are having to run several cycles to wash and reach temperature. This also varies depending on unit and building.
5) Question: Based on these answers, if deemed to your benefit, would you consider replacement units with internal booster heaters, alleviating the need for the external
Hatcos?
Answer: Provide Units in accordance with the SOW.
6) Question: The Booster Heater and plumbing for the heater looks new in Building 2095.
Can the Government confirm if replacing this equipment is a requirement under the contract?
Answer: Reference SOW section 4.1.2.f: The dishwasher must be capable of 1500 dishes per hour or more and must be attached to the existing external boosters.
7) Question: The Booster Heater and plumbing for the heater looks new in Building 6995.
Can the Government confirm if replacing this equipment is a requirement under the contract?
Answer: Reference SOW section 4.3.2.f : The dishwasher must be capable of 1500 dishes per hour or more and must be attached to the existing external boosters.
8) Question: Since MWR owns the equipment, can the Government confirm where the
Contractor is to dispose of the dishwashers and booster heaters?
Answer: The Contractor will be responsible to coordinate with the MWR POC Mr.
Robert Carmel at (253) 967-7693 to return the units removed.
9) Question: Can the Government confirm if offers are to be sealed bids and delivered or if electronic submittal is acceptable?
Answer: Reference page 7 of Exhibit 1_RFQ_W911S820Q0013 which states: Due to current COVID 19 conditions, all communication (including site visit RSVP, solicitation questions/comments, and quote submission) must be done via email to the following
