Contractor Questions and Government Responses
W911S7-17-T-0002 – TACOM Tires
Contractor Question 1: Wanted to verify that tires can be classified All Season instead of All Weather, original solicitation stated All Weather.
Government Response 1: Yes the tires can be classified as All Season.
Contractor Question 2: The contract states 600 tires, but shows a Performance period of 1 year. Does that mean no more than 600 tires will be bought within the 1 year timeframe? Will all 600 be purchased immediately or do you know approximate number and delivery schedule for the tires? Also what is the expected turnaround time for these tires to be delivered once we receive official notification?
Government Response 2: Yes the quantity is NTE 600 tires for the year. Delivery orders will be awarded throughout the year which is when delivery will be made for the quantity as specified on the order.
Quantity may vary per the order limitations established IAW FAR 52.216-19. Delivery will be required to be made within 30 days after the effective date of the delivery orders IAW FAR 52.216-21.
Contractor Question 3: We assume utilizing a subcontractor to deliver the tires will be allowed as long as all documentation is provided with our bid or before sub is utilized.
Government Response 3: Contractors may use whatever method of delivery they prefer as long as it’s within the guidelines established in section H
Contractor Question 4: Is there a form we should be completing to provide details associated with the bid?
Government Response 4: Just to clarify this is a quote and not a bid. Review FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors--Commercial Items, for guidance on what information in required to be included on quotes submitted.
Delivery cost should be factored into the unit cost since this is FOB destination.
