Questions from Industry

9 Feb 17 Q: Bidders observed stored material in the warehouse area directly beneath the Carrier unit. Will the government clear this area for work inside the building?

A: Arrangements will be made for the customer to move their items.

Q: Will the government allow the Contractor to construct a new or expanded penetration through the roof, as required?

A: Yes. However, keep in mind all penetrations will have to be sealed properly to prevent the elements entering the building.

Q: Is an offer guarantee required?

A: No

Q: The loading dock area will be obstructed for a period of time necessary for a crane to set the new unit in place on the roof. Additionally, personnel working in the warehouse area will need to be cleared from the area beneath the unit during this process. Are these conditions acceptable to the government?

A: Yes

Q: Based on our experience, the cooling season at Fort Riley commences on or around 4/15. However, due to the lead time on the new unit, installation may occur after 4/15. Will the government accept installation after 4/15?

A: YES. The unit is unserviceable now so it really doesn’t matter.
