About this file

This document contains questions and responses regarding a solicitation for a Dynamic High Resolution Scanner. The Army is seeking a scanner that can scan the entire human body in static and dynamic motion up to 60 3D shapes per second within a capture area of at least 2 meters by 2 meters by 2.2 meters. The scanner will be used indoors to obtain body measurements of test participants for Army anthropometry research and item sizing support. While no preferred brand is specified, the scanner should not function as an X-ray device but rather capture only surface geometry.

Question Question Response

Can you provide additional details regarding the specifications or intended use for the desired

Dynamic High Resolution Scanner?

It is to scan whole human body in static and dynamic motion up to 60 3D shape per second.

What is the desired scan area (length + width + height)? At least 2 meter X 2 meter X 2.2 meter.

Do you plan to use scanner indoor or mostly outdoors? The scanner will be used indoors.

Is this for a law enforcement agency looking for a full body X‐ray scanner to detect contraband on inmates, or something else?

The scanner in general is to be used in obtaining and characterizing body shapes and sizes for Army anthropometry (body measurement), with the data used for research and item sizing support. This 3D system captures the surface geometry of the test participants (or target), not the inside of the body (X‐lay).

5 Do you have any preferred brand for the item? There is no preferred brand.
