Task: Accelerate FTUAS Technologies for Joint Forcible Entry (JFE) Operations

• Alpha Echelon forces require an Air Drop Capable, Rapid Deployable, Runway Independent Multi- Domain Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition (RSTA) UAS capability.

• Initial airborne assault forces must operate expeditionary (small footprints) in austere environments.

• Maximize the effectiveness of Alpha Echelon artillery while reducing tactical risk in the deployment of ground reconnaissance and observers.

Purpose: Address Detect and Assess Challenges in JFE Operations

• Alpha Echelon forces possess M777 to 60mm mortar indirect fires capability to decide and deliver.

• During 24-96 hour window the only organic detect and assess capability is ground based.

• Current fleet of UAS is not available until the arrival of air lands (Bravo Echelon).
