Questions & Answers – Solicitation (W911QX-21-Q-0066) Question 1: Please confirm the electric and compressed air utilities will be provided at the machine installation location. Our technician will make the final connection.
Answer: Air and electric supply will already be in place and our technicians will make final connections.
Question 2: Are we to include rigging cost or will the ARL move machine into position?
Answer: The supplier should be responsible for moving the machine into position, including the set up and leveling. Forklift in this area will be tight, but not impossible according to the technician.
Question 3: Can you ask for more detail on how far the machine needs moved compared to the drop off/ receiving location? Is it within the same building, any obstacles, etc.? Our team is allowed to use your forklift I take it.
Will your receiving department uncrate the machine or do we need to take care of that as well?
Answer: The delivery location has to be the logistics shipping / receiving building first for property check and security check, and then it can be shipped to building 4600 by the supplier where it will be installed. We prefer the supplier be responsible for shipping or moving the crated system between receiving and final install location at Building 4600 to mitigate our liability. We prefer the vendor to uncrate the system, move it into place, and do initial set up to mitigate our liability. We have forklifts available, but need information on size, weight, and rigging / fork lift points before we schedule our licensed forklift operators. They are not allowed to operate our forklifts to the best of my knowledge, but we can provide a licensed operator to assist with appropriate lead-time.
We will need advance notice of delivery date (minimum 4 weeks) to have any chance of this occurring in one day, otherwise it will be split up from delivery to our shipping and receiving and the supplier’s onsite visit to move, uncrate, and set up at 4600. In addition, the supplier’s personnel will have to be approved for onsite APG and ARL visitor badges, and that coordination will be thorough us if they are selected. Current policy is that visitors must also have negative COVID test results within a 72-hour window prior to the onsite date.
