Solicitation Q&A

1. For Building 394 Vault UPS, you specified that there are two (2) cabinets and need 40 batteries.

Shouldn't this be 80 batteries? 40 for each cabinet?

Answer: The batteries are tested twice a year. Based on battery vendor report only 40 batteries are required to be replaced at this time.

2. If all the batteries in these UPS were replaced prior at the same time, why aren't they all being replaced this time? It's very rare you see a partial replacement.

Answer: The batteries are tested twice a year, all batteries within UPS systems are not always replaced at the same time. As battery inspections are completed the report notes the batteries which have reached the end of their life, the quantities noted are the ones recommended to be replaced.

3. Please provide the existing battery model numbers of each cabinet.

Answer:

5. How far is Bldg. 394 and Bldg. 328 from the delivery location?

Answer: Vendor will have to bring batteries onsite with them and unload at both Bldg 328 and Bldg 394. Vendor will also have to remove old batteries and take them back with them when they leave for disposal. None of the old batteries are to be left onsite by vendor.

6. Do you have any Fork lift/Pallet jack available on site to move around the batteries?

Answer: Vendor will be responsible for bringing any freight equipment onsite with all required labor to unload and load as needed to complete the replacement of noted batteries.

7. How easy is it to access the UPS rooms, which floor, fright elevator, steps, ramps etc.?

Answer: Two UPS Systems are installed in outside UPS containers. Trucks can be pulled up right outside container. These containers have between 2 to 4 steps to get into container. The other UPS systems are within buildings at either ground level and/or with a loading ramp. Each room are within 75' from exterior door.

8. Do you have any storage area for keeping the new and old batteries for a couple of days during the installation duration?
