Questions and Answers from Interested Solicitation Vendors
QuestionsGovernment Response
1. Thank you for your reply, the problem we have is that we need to know the drone that will be connected so that we can send you the correct [redacted] stated in the requirement. The manufacturer has [redacted] different types of [redacted] which are compatible with different drones.

If you can send me this information I will be able to submit our quotation

We are waiting your reply.

The drone we will be using is built "in-house". It is not a commercial item. We will adapt the drone to the air module(s) provided. To help optimize the drone as a whole, it would be helpful if the vendor provided the lightest (in weight) air modules which meet the power requirements.

The requested weight limit for the air module(s) is in the salient characteristics as 2.5 pounds. Any air module set that weighs less than that and meets the power requirement would be acceptable.

2. Thank you for your reply. Can you please provide me with the type of drone that needs to be attached?

This will affect our quotation that I will send you.

“All of the requirements have been listed on the solicitation. Please refer to the page for the list of the requirements that have been provided in the link before. Please refer to the site page.”

3. On behalf of my company I would like to bid on the solicitation number in this email subject.

Shall it be done online on FBO or can I send the bid to you directly ? Shall I use a official sample for that ?

Looking forward to your answer.

“Please refer to the solicitation posting. All the instructions have been included there.

Please refer to the instructions listed on the official solicitation paged on FBO.gov for the must up to date requirements. Your potential quotations must meet the criteria listed there.

Thank you.”

4. a. C.2.5 describes “…at a minimum weight of 50 lbs”. Is this referring to the ground module of the system? Is the word “minimum” correct here, or are you perhaps looking for a maximum weight of 50 lb for this bottom end for transportability?

4. b. Do you have a limit on the tether voltage? (we understand that 24 V is needed in the air; the voltage in the tether needs to be higher)

1. Yes, the weight value is intended to address the weight of the ground unit. The wording is correct: a minimum weight of 50 pounds speaks to the need for a rugged/robust ground unit.

2. No voltage limit on the tether voltage. During operation, the voltage must be down converted by the air modules at the air platform. Just make sure to consider the maximum weight per unit length constraint for the tether.

5. We design custom tether systems. Please see the attached data sheet. The only issue is that we cannot deliver in 6 weeks. Should we bid this project?

Thank you for your interest. Please go ahead and submit a quote but make a note of the approx. delivery schedule date in the quote itself.

Thank you

Hope to get a list of title contracts offices

Please confirm that you have received the message

Please send a quote based on our requirements on the website if you would like to be considered. The requirements that we need are listed on the afreomentioned link on FEDBIZOPS. Please note that we do not utilize contract title offices. Instead, the quotes of the requirements can be sent directly to us via the instructions in the FBO posting.

Thanks.

Hope to get a list of title contracts officesWe understand the scope ow work but would like to request information on connector types needed for the Tethered Power Supply System.

The Government will adapt the power connection points of the UAS to the air module(s) provided. A "standard US connector type" appropriate to the supplied voltage and integral to the air module should be acceptable.
