Salient Characteristics
The Contractor Shall deliver a high shear blending system capable of dry blending polymeric powders, powder-liquid dispersion, and liquid-liquid dispersion meeting the following characteristics:
1.
The ability to blend polymeric and ceramic particles with particle sizes ranging from 200 nanometers to 500 microns
2.
A vertical and conical mixing design to promote both mixing and full particle discharge through a valve located on the bottom of the cone
3.
A central rotor operation at speeds between 0 to 3000 revolutions per minute (RPM) or greater range
4.
A direct drive servo motor
5.
A manual lift system for fitting the product bowls
6.
A touch control panel with adjustable and programmable mixing times and speeds
7.
English language for panel and manuals
8.
A housing unit composed of 304 Stainless steel polished to a surface finish less than or equal to 0.8 microns
9.
A unit that fits within a one (1) meter by one (1) meter footprint and is less than 1.5 meters tall
10.
A unit capable of using three (3) or more interchangeable product mixing bowls capable of handling 100 milliliter (mL), one (1) liter, and two (2) liters of product respectively
11.
Each mixing bowl shall include the mixing rotor, bearings, cover, and lip seal
12.
Each mixing bowl shall use 316 stainless steel for product contacting parts
13.
Each mixing bowl shall have a polished surface finish for product contacting parts less than or equal to 0.4 microns
14.
The rotor for each mixing bowl shall be composed of a mixture of paddles and knife blades to generate a combination of shear for mixing and impact for deagglomeration of the particles 15.
Each mixing bowl shall include material and surface roughness certificates
16.
The rotor seal shall be Guylon white Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved
17.
The one (1) liter and two (2) liter mixing bowls shall be jacketed vessels for both water and ethylene glycol cooling and heating over temperature range of 0 to 80 Celsius (°C) with included swagelock male connectors for the water inlet and outlet points as well as an integrated temperature sensor 18.
Packing, crating, and delivery to Aberdeen Proving Grounds 19.
Installation, start-up, and onsite training for one (1) day
