Q.1- I am inquiring about your solicitation 0017 for the tailgates. I may be missing it, but I reviewed it several times and do not see a QTY. Is there a specific amount needed?
A. Estimated 15 EA per year, however the tailgate is DLA managed. Contract to be used since DLA is not currently support our Requisitions and GPC limit has been exceeded. If DLA begins supporting orders, then our QTY through contract may be reduced.
Q.2- For the base contract period and the two option periods do you have minimum and maximum best estimated quantity?
A. Minimum QTY would be 1 during the base year, maximum is 15. For each option year the minimum QTY would be 0 (if DLA supports future orders) and 15.
Q.3- Is commercial packaging acceptable? Where we can ship multiple assemblies on one pallet. DLA had a requirement for MIL Spec Packaging for the same item where we had to no bid due to the size of the assembly.
A. Commercial packaging is acceptable as long as the item is properly tagged for central receiving identification. Contract is responsible to ensure the item is packaged in a way which ensures it is received at Letterkenny undamaged. If the packaging doesn’t protect the item during the shipment, then the damaged item will be returned to the contractor for a refund.
Q.4- For the desired FOB Destination Shipping our quote will be based upon shipping only to Letterkenny Army Depot. If the delivery destinations are subject to change then the FOB would have to be Origin.
A. FOB will always be Letterkenny Army Depot (Chambersburg, PA). Letterkenny is NOT a supply depot, so we don’t ship items all over like DLA does.
