About this file

This justification and approval document proposes a sole source contract award to Mandus Group, LLC for the modernization of three Mandus Group Model MG3000 gymnasticators owned by the Army. The Army Contracting Command-Detroit seeks to modernize the highly specialized gymnasticator equipment to eliminate obsolescence and improve capabilities for $1,800,000. As the original equipment manufacturer, only Mandus Group possesses the pertinent technical data and software required to update the equipment without substantial cost duplication, as procuring from another source would allegedly require replacing the gymnasticators entirely. Mandus Group has stated it will not provide the data to other parties. The justification cites 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(A) for the sole source authority. The related solicitation is numbered W911KF-23-Q-0054 and was issued by the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command Detroit Arsenal for the limited competition procurement.
