Any modifications or extensions will be requested through the KO or representative for review and discussion.
4. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
4.1. Project Design Drawings.
5. WORK TASKS
5.1. All work carried out will conform to the latest edition of: The International Fire Code, The International Mechanical Code and the Anniston Army Depot The Natural Gas System Operating & Maintenance Manual Revision A.
5.1. Company to perform work shall be an existing approved Spire contractor, or show a valid certification that conforms to requirements of the Alabama Service Commission.
5.2. Contractor shall install a new 8” HDPE gas main along the North side of Sixth Avenue West. The new main will tie into an existing 8” gas main located at the North East corner of the intersection Sixth Avenue West & Frankford Avenue (location described by 85°58'9.214"W 33°37'34.852"N), and end at north east of Building 31 (location described by 85°58'23.57"W 33°37'38.36"N). See attached Drawing.
5.3. All installed gas line shall be buried a minimum of 42” as measured from the top of the line to ground level. See the “Buried Line Detail” in the provided drawing.
5.4. At the intersection of Sixth Avenue West & Frankford Avenue the 8” HDPE line shall tie in using either an 8” DR9 HDPE electrofusion tapping tee, or an electrofusion tee, with an electrofusion 8” HDPE Poly Valve. A temporary bypass will be serviced with two 2” HDPE Electrofusion High Volume Tapping Tees and serviced with a Temporary 2” HDPE bypass line. Pinching off of the 8” line is acceptable in lieu of the bypass, if the new tie-in carried out within 4 hours, and it can be determined that gas usage is low. ANAD will be responsible for any relighting of equipment that is required.
5.5. The 8” HDPE Line will end North of Sixth Avenue West at the location described in
5.3 using a 8” DR9 HDPE Poly Valve and then continue a minimum of 12” to a 8” DR9 HDPE Cap for a future tie-in. An 8” DR9 HDPE Tee with an 8”x4” DR9 HDPE reducer, or an electrofusion 8” to 4” Tapping Tee, will feed a 4” HDPE line to serve Building 31.
5.6. Three piece 5-1/4” Cast Iron Valve Boxes shall be installed over all underground valves to grade. Valve boxes will be surrounded with a 3’x 3’x 6” thick steel reinforced concrete pad poured to grade.
5.7. The Contractor shall use Horizontal Directional Drilling to place the 4” gas main under the Sixth Avenue West roadway, and the adjacent railroad tracks to supply a regulator station installed between the rail road tracks and the concrete drive adjacent to the North East of Building 31. Horizontal Directional Drilling shall be used from that point to the North East wall of Building 31.
5.8. A 1st Cut Regulator Station shall be installed between the rail road tracks and the concrete drive adjacent to the North East of Building 31. Six 6” sch. 40 Diameter Bollards filled with concrete, which conform to the ANAD Installation Guide, shall be installed around the 1st Cut station in such a way so that a vehicle will not be able to enter within the confines of the Regulator Station. More bollard shall be used if the dimension between bollards exceeds 40”.
5.9. Steel 4” Fusion Bond Epoxy w/ PC .237 WallX52 ERW Pipe shall be utilized from the north side of the railroad tracks to the regulator station and from the regulator station to the North-East wall of Building 31. Thrust bore kits will be used at all joints. The 1st Cut Regulator Station shall be configured for two Mooney Regulators (regulators will be installed at a later date) configured for wide open monitoring with a relief valve stack. Three temporary skillets will be installed after pressure testing.
5.10. Contractor shall stub up a 4” steel gas main with an installed steel plug valve. The plug valve shall have a blank flange installed for a future service regulator three feet above grade adjacent to the north side wall of Building 31 between the ac unit and the side walk located at the Northeast corner of the building.
5.11. The upstream side of the 1st Cut Station will be pressure tested for a ≥ 24 hours at ≥ 200 psi and the downstream side of the 1st cut station shall be tested for ≥ 24 hours at ≥ 100 psi.
5.12. All steel line will be bonded at two locations with 17 pound anodes.
5.13. A coated 10 GA. solid strand copper wire shall be installed with all HDPE Lines. It shall be grounded with a 1 lb. anode every ≤500'. This line will be bonded to the existing wire laying with the existing 8" HDPE pipe. The wire shall be accessible in all valve boxes so that locator leads can be utilized in the future.
