RESPONSE TO INDUSTRY RESPONSES

W91151-18-B-0029 Responses to Questions from Industry

Renovate Bldg. 91012

1. During the site walk, we saw that the fire sprinkler heads need to be relocated due to new walls. There are existing walls that are not within code for sprinkler head location. Do you want us to move these heads as well?

A: These walls are not within scope, and must remain undisturbed during construction. To be clear, due to security and network requirements, these walls, and the cable tubing attached to it are to be avoided at all costs during construction.

2. We understand that we have to replace some carpet tiles, however, due to the age and condition the new tiles will not match the existing tiles. Do you want us to replace the tiles in the entire room?

A: Replacing all of the floor tiles in this room will not be added to this scope of work. After meeting with the facility user, we now know that they will have a stock of floor tiles available for contractors to use when existing walls are removed. Receipt of flooring tile from the facility user will be discussed upon award of this project, and coordinated during preconstruction planning meetings and activities.

3. Can you provide existing HVAC plans with flex runouts?

A: Please see attached.

4. On the second floor, we have to replace some of the elevated floor tiles. Are there some in the mechanical room that we can use or do we need to provide and match existing? If we are to match the existing, can you provide a style, color, and size?

A: A stock of floor tiles available for contractors to use when existing walls are removed. Receipt of flooring tile from the facility user will be discussed upon award of this project, and coordinated during preconstruction planning meetings and activities.

5. Will additional modifications to the drawings be made per marked up drawings that were located in room 203 on the job-site visit?

A: Please disregard the drawings posted in room 203 during the job site visit. Only consider the changes included in the updated project drawing set issued during this pre-award RFI period.

6. How should wall type B be attached to the modular flooring per detail page A-301? Will wall type B require overhead bracing?

A: Use fasteners to install bottom track to floor.
