Joint Commission (TJC) Pre-Survey Assessment Visit (PSAV) to LRMC Healthcare Facilities
Questions Responses
1. The Scope of Work states that the Pre-Survey Assessment Visit (PSAV) is to occur during the week of 3 March thru 8 March 2019. Given a Response Date of 22 February and given the time allowed for the contract to be awarded, can this date of the PSAV be moved back to April or May so that we have adequate time to schedule our best team.
1-A) Period of Performance may be moved to April but it is preferred for the pre-survey to be complete no later than 19 April 2019.
2. The survey team shall consist of five (5) members, to include the following survey specialties: 1x Medical Provider, 2x Registered Nurses, 1x Behavioral Health Specialist, and 1x Ambulatory Care Specialist. Just to confirm, does the organization not want a Life Safety Code Specialist to participate in this PSAV?
2-A) LRMC has a contract with a consulting service focusing primarily on Environment of Care and Life Safety that does yearly inspections and workshops. Though we realize the value of this aspect of the accreditation manual it does not need to be the focus of the pre survey.
3. Paragraph 1.2. states that LRMC is currently surveyed under TJC Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Ambulatory and Behavioral Health and PCMH certification.
According to the Joint Commission website, LRMC is accredited under the Hospital and Behavioral Health accreditation programs.
Please clarify as this distinction may impact the requested survey team complement (e.g., the addition of a Life Safety Specialist).
3-A) LRMC is accredited under the Hospital and Behavioral Health programs with certification in PCMH. PCMH certification was obtained in 2017 during the most recent survey.
4. TECHINICAL EXHIBIT # 1 - PLACE OF
PERFORMANCE provides for less than one full day (Day
5) to survey the hospital LRMC in Landstuhl. Please confirm that the intent of this PSAV is to focus on the performance of the AHCs in Baumholder, Kleber, Wiesbaden, Vicenza, and SHAPE -- and not the hospital.
4-A) Days 1 and 5 have a considerable amount of time allotted for LRMC, both Kleber and Baumholder require minimal travel time to each destination which is the intent of the afternoon. Though the focus is on the entire footprint, as an organization we spend less time evaluating the outpatient clinics and we received over 1/3 of our overall findings during the 2017 survey from our health clinic assets.
