MINIMAL ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS FOR D CYLINDER STORAGE RACK
The storage racks shall have the following minimal essential characteristics:
1. Rack must be capable of storing a minimum quantity of 40 D size [oxygen] cylinders (which is the standard 95 gallon cylinder)
2. Rack shall have a pallet size frame with a width of 40.875 inches and a depth of 25.825 inches as these are the optimal dimensions required to accommodate 40 cylinders and still be able to move the full racks with manual pallet jacks or warehouse forklift. However, the acceptable range for the pallet dimension is a width of 40.875 inches ± 2 inches and a depth of 25.825 inches ± 2 inches.
3. Rack must be capable of being lifted and moved, empty or full of cylinders, with a forklift
4. Rack must include a minimum of two (2) hold down nets to prevent cylinders from moving up and down or falling out of the rack
5. The nets must have some mechanism to secure the net to the rack
6. Rack shall include grid or dividers for each cylinder
7. The racks shall be capable of being stacked at least two high
8. The racks shall be constructed of metal
9. The racks shall be stable without the need to bolt or otherwise secure them to the ground
