Minimum Essential Characteristics
· The eye tracker must be completely seamlessly integrated with the Brain Trauma Foundation (BTF) eye tracking measurement and analysis system.
· The core eye tracking technology shall utilize video based image analysis techniques and an infrared illuminator (IRED) so that external lighting does not influence the tracking performance.
· The eye tracker shall sample at rates up to 2000 Hz monocular / 1000 Hz binocular (with Desktop mount).
· The eye tracker shall have end-to-end sample access delays under 1.5 milliseconds (at 2000 Hz sampling rate) thereby making it possible to conduct gaze- or saccade-contingent research.
· The eye tracker shall have several available mounting options as well as camera upgrades, including an upgrade which supports a 2000 Hz sampling rate, an upgrade allowing the camera to be used as a truly Remote eye tracking system where the viewer’s head does not need to be stabilized.
· The eye tracker shall support measurements in such sensitive recording environments as MEG, MRI, and EEG.
· The eye tracker shall provide extremely high resolution eye data without the need for a limited camera field-of-view, thereby allowing eye position to be tracked even when the participant’s head moves +/- 30 mm horizontally or vertically.
