About this file
This document is a Justification Review Document for Sole Source Procurement under FAR Part 13.501 for San-I-Pak Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) Sterilizer Maintenance Services at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in Hawaii. The procurement is for a new firm fixed-price purchase order funded by the Fiscal Year 2025 Defense Health Program, with San-I-Pak Pacific, Inc. identified as the sole manufacturer and maintenance provider for the government-owned sterilizer located at TAMC.
The total estimated contract value includes a 12-month base period, four one-year option periods, and a 6-month extension. Market research conducted within the last 12 months confirmed that San-I-Pak is the only authorized original equipment manufacturer (OEM) capable of providing these proprietary maintenance services, which include preventative maintenance inspections, repairs, and replacement of defective components. A sources sought notice was posted on SAM.gov on 22 Apr 2025, with two vendors responding, but no specific capabilities information was received beyond San-I-Pak's assertion of their unique service capabilities.
