About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) transcript related to a Sources Sought Announcement (SSA) for an Integrated Broadcast Service Node requirement. The Army is seeking a non-developmental replacement solution for a secure information system (SIS) capability currently using a KIV-7M encryptor that is facing obsolescence. The replacement SIS should be capable of secure communications and processing at the Secret level and below, with modern, reprogrammable, and quantum resistant cryptography. The Government is interested in commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) or minimally modified solutions, and intends to obtain at least government purpose data rights to ensure sustainment. A fixed-price production contract is tentatively planned for 2025. Responses to the SSA are due by 5:30 PM on November 25, 2024 and should be submitted via email to the specified points of contact. The Army is also open to product demonstrations from interested sources.

W56KGY25R0002 – Q & A
06 November 2024
Integrated Broadcast Service Node - Sources
Sought - W56KGY25R0002
Question:
Can your mission be met with the new KIV-117 as the security-modern, lowest risk, plug & play replacement to the existing KIV-7M?
Answer:
The required secure information system (SIS) does require some customization (including a crypto bypass function), as indicated in the performance spec accompanying the RFI.
Additionally, the delivery schedule is of paramount concern. We encourage all entities to respond to the RFI with details on how the requirements can be met in the shortest amount of time possible.
