All contractor furnished inspection equipment shall be available for USG use on or before the start of production. The USG will not furnish any inspection equipment under this contract. The contractor shall make inspection equipment available to the USG representative during USG in-process or end item inspection. Upon completion of the inspection by the USG representative, all inspection equipment will be returned to the contractor. The USG reserves the right to use inspection equipment at any time during the performance of the contract.
E 2.4 Certifications
E.2.4.1 All certifications provided by the contractor shall include supporting documentation (e.g. test data, material analysis, drawings, purchase orders, and specifications). E.2.6 Production Quality. The production quality inspections and test requirements specified in the contractor's Quality Control Plan shall be performed and executed to all applicable circumstances and conditions such as changes in schedule, production count/frequency as follows:
E.2.6.1 In-Process Inspection. The contractor shall identify and establish in-process inspection points and inspections where the absence of such inspections could adversely affect quality. These inspections shall evaluate the conformance of materials, welding operations, workmanship, plating, machining, blasting/painting and other necessary processes to contractual and design activity engineering document/blueprint requirements. The USG reserves the right to either witness the contractor's in-process inspection or conduct its own in-process inspection. All in-process inspections conducted during fabrication shall be made at the contractor or subcontractor's facilities prior to the application of primer or paint, with coating evaluations done post paint-application-process.

E.2.7.1 Category I PQDR: A report of a product quality deficiency which may cause death, injury, or severe occupational illness; would cause loss or major damage to a weapon system; critically restricts the combat readiness capabilities of the using organization; or which would result in a production line stoppage.
E.2.7.2 Category II PQDRs: A report of a product quality deficiency which does not meet the criteria set forth in Category I.
E.2.7.3 Upon receipt of a PQDR, the contractor shall submit a written response to the reported defect/complaint. If final determination cannot be made sooner, an interim Category I PQDR corrective action response shall be provided within 48 hours of receipt.
The contractor shall be responsible for all CONUS shipping costs associated with suspected defective PQDR exhibits being returned to the contractors facility for analysis. If the PQDR investigation reveals deficiencies attributed to contractor workmanship or non-conformance to contract requirements, the contractor shall repair or replace the deficient items as deemed necessary by the PCO at no additional cost to the USG. Corrective actions requiring configuration changes shall be approved by the USG prior to implementation.
In the event that a final contractor corrective action response to a PQDR cannot be provided due to ongoing investigation activity, an interim response for every category I PQDR shall be provided every 10 days and every 30 days for every Category II PQDR, until a final corrective action response is submitted.
E.3 Paint, Pretreatment, and Finish Requirements. The contractor shall perform the paint and pretreatment processes IAW MIL-DTL-53072 and MIL-DTL-5541. The use of commercial 5200/5700 series Alodine and MIL-C-5541 (Revision E) are acceptable alternates to MIL-DTL-5541.
