DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/WORK STATEMENT

Performance Work Statement (PWS) -- TrailMax FWTD-10-TA Travelling-Axle Trailer Repair

1. Introduction. Red River Army Depot (RRAD) requires durable, high-quality repairs to one TrailMax Traveling Axle Trailer, model FWTD-

70-TA, S/N 5UCFT5026AA000869. This trailer has seized cam follower assemblies that, over time and use, caused significant damage to the axle travel surfaces on the underside of the trailer. Repairs are expected to require parts replacement, welding, and painting.

2. Scope. The Contractor shall repair the trailer so that it operates safely and as originally designed. This is not a reset or refurbishment requirement. The Contractor shall only repair or replace components necessary to render the trailer safely operable and able to perform as originally designed.

2.1. Work Location and Trailer Movement. The Contractor shall retrieve the trailer from its current location in Texarkana, TX, repair the trailer at its facility, and return the trailer to Red River Army Depot when complete.

2.2. Performance Standards. The Contractor shall ensure that all repairs performed are permanent, maintainable, and allow the trailer to retain or exceed its original performance characteristics and load ratings.

3. Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE). The trailer being repaired, TrailMax FWTD-10-TA S/N 5UCFT5026AA000869, is considered to be GFE, and is provided as described in Attachment 0001, Government-Furnished Property Worksheet.

4. Contracting Officers Representative. Work performed under this Purchase Order will be supervised by a Contracting Officer's

Representative (COR). The COR is authorized to perform inspection and acceptance on the repaired trailer, but cannot authorize additional work or deviations from the performance standards. The Contractor shall notify the COR and Contracting Officer immediately of any additional work required or hidden flaws uncovered when working on the trailer, and shall provide the COR and the Contracting

Officer with a description of the problem and an estimate for project completion. The Contractor shall not proceed with additional work without the consent of the Contracting Officer.

5. Inspection and Acceptance. Prior to acceptance by Red River Army Depot, the Contractor shall demonstrate for the Contracting

Officer's Representative (COR) that the trailer functions as originally designed, and shall demonstrate all of the trailer's mechanical systems over their full range(s) of motion. The Contractor shall provide the COR with a full description of the services performed and any parts repaired or replaced.
