About this file
This document is a Statement of Objectives (SOO) for the purchase of one stationary overhead rail shot blasting system for Maintenance Activity Kaiserslautern (MAK), a U.S. military facility in Germany operated by TLSC-E/A.
The system must be brand new, CE compliant, and designed for mechanical surface treatment of steel components including sheets, angle profiles, and welded assemblies. Key technical specifications include: maximum dimensions of 6,000 mm height × 3,600 mm width × 7,000 mm length; blasting chamber with pneumatically locked safety door and minimum opening dimensions of 1,500 mm height × 1,100 mm width; workpiece transport via manual or semi-automatic overhead rail with integrated oscillation (±150 mm) and rotation (8 RPM adjustable); at least two centrifugal turbines each with minimum 5.5 kW power and ≥80 m/s throwing speed; blast media throughput of ≥110 kg/min per turbine; dust extraction cartridge filter system with ≥2,000 m³/h air volume flow and ≤1 mg/m³ residual dust content; PLC-based control system (e.g., Siemens S7) with 7-inch minimum display; and 400V/50Hz/3Ph power supply. The machine must process parts weighing less than 10 kg with minimum load capacity of 500 kg per hook and operate on workpieces with effective diameter of at least 900 mm at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C.
The supplier must deliver the system ready-to-operate to point of use including compensation frame, unloading, and commissioning; provide on-site operator and maintenance training in German with certification; supply operation and maintenance manuals in English and German; maintain a 12-month warranty from delivery date or ≥1,800 operating hours; and guarantee spare parts availability for at least 10 years. The system must comply with EC Machinery Directive, DIN EN 1248, DIN EN 60204-1, Directive 2014/68/EU, DGUV Rule 100-500 Chapter 2.24, and DGUV Rule 113-001.
