PROJECT TITLE: Loading Dock Upgrade

WORK LOCATION: Germersheim, bldg. XXXX

DELIVERY: TIME: 120 Days ARO

Title I - General Description

1. General

a) The purpose of this project is to upgrade of the existing loading dock, and convert the dock to an automated material handling system (AMHS) loading dock. The loading dock currently have a manual conveyor for loading ALOC pallets.

b) The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to replace, dismantle certain parts and components of a manual roller system for the transport of ALOC pallets and replace with an automated/non-manual transport system to eliminate an accident prone situation, except for those items identified as Government Furnished Property, Equipment and Services. The Contractor shall perform all work described in their technically acceptable proposal, which will be incorporated in the contracts.

c) Work may be performed on US Holidays; however, work on US holidays must be scheduled with the COR at least 5 working days prior to the holiday.

Working hours are Monday through Friday from 0700 hours through 1700 hours.

2. Description of Work

a) The contractor will be require to upgrade the existing manual conveyor dock, to include built-in weighing scale.

The size of the loading dock is approximately 13,350mm (526 inches) in length by 7,800mm (307 inches) in width.

Portions of the manual loading dock conveyor will require to be removed and replace with automated powered system that will support the ALOC pallets. Any portions of the current conveyor system shall be removed and disposed of properly. A new system shall be installed based on a technically acceptable proposal. System to be installed shall be semi-automatic with segmented sections powered to be activated by DLA personnel. Light barriers (light curtains) shall be included and installed to automatically stop all moving parts if personnel enters the area of operations. A manual reset shall be incorporated. Installation shall include all hardware, software, electrical components, connections and training to DLA personnel in German and English language.

b) Celling mounted electric illumination shall be modified, either by adding additional light fixtures or by replacing current fixtures to double the light intensity versus currently available.

c) Red high intensity LED light strings shall be embedded in the new structure to mark the edge of the conveyor at the outermost extension of the conveyor to the trailer backed up to the bay opening.

d) The current dock requires extension in order for any truck to safely off-load their ALOC pallets onto the newly automated AMHS loading dock.

e) An extended 4 year manufacturer warranty on all components shall be included.
