SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
Overall Specifications
Rated Net Power (ISO 9249) shall be no less than 56.9 hp (42.4 kW)
The arm force shall be no less than 6,902 lb (30.7 kN)
The bucket curl force shall be no less than 10,476 lb (46.6 kN)
The Reach shall be no less than 24' from track center
Tie crane shall have a minimum lift capacity of 1200 lbs over the side
Tie Crane shall be equipped with hydraulic generator and 30” magnet
Optional single tie grapple shall be included
Warranty of this equipment is 12 months on all components
Engine
Engine shall be certified to EPA Final Tier 4/EU Stage IV
Engine shall have four cylinders and a displacement of no less than 202 cu in (3.3 L)
The engine will have a cold start aid such as glow plugs
The engine oil and fuel filters will be remotely mounted for ease of access
Cooling
Engine coolant shall protect the machine to temperature of -34°F (-37°C)
The radiator and oil cooler will be protected with a trash screen to protect against debris
A fan guard inside the engine compartment will help prevent contact with the engine fan blades.
Power Train
The machine's propel travel motor system shall be hydraulically driven and mounted on the end of each axle
A chain drive propel travel motor system shall not be accepted
Travel motors shall be actuated by a two direction foot pedal inside operator’s station
Brakes
The machine brake system shall include a spring applied and hydraulically released dry can emergency / parking brake, mounted on the end of each axle
The propel parking brake shall be actuated by a park brake switch mounted in the cab within operators reach
The propel parking brake shall also be actuated by a pilot control circuit leaver mounted in the cab within operators reach
The propel Service Brakes shall Include a hydraulic actuated “shoe brake” assembly mounted on each axle
The propel Service Brakes shall be actuated by a foot pedal inside operator’s station
Pneumatic actuated propel Service Brakes shall not be accepted
Hydraulics
The hydraulic system shall be open center, load sensing
The main pumps shall be three variable-displacement axial-piston pumps with maximum flow of
15 gpm
Boom and arm shall have reduced drift valves for greater stability and positioning
Boom and arm shall be equipped with required hydraulics to operate a rotary tie Grapple
Machine shall include a hydraulic emergency pump for boom raise and swing in the event of machine shut down
Electrical
The electrical system shall be 24 volt and alternator rating no less than 50 amp
Work lights shall be provided: mounted on the frame and boom
One cab entry light shall be provided: one mounted on the cab illuminating the cab access. And will have a switch assessable from the ground
The fuse box shall be in the cab, well protected from the elements and opened without tools
A safety cover will protect the positive terminal of the battery
A TAG-out LOCK-out Battery Disconnect will be provided
Lower structure
The lower undercarriage shall include sufficient key hole style tie down mounts for transportation of this machine by truck
Machine to include structurally sound bumpers, integrated into the frame. The bumpers are to be located fore and aft of the machine and will be required to endure the forces induced by a tow hitch.
The lower undercarriage shall have include Tow hitch points on each end for connecting carts
The lower undercarriage shall have include two (2) 4" live axles with 16" rail wheels
Each axle will be mounted through spherical pillow block bearings
The lower undercarriage shall be equipped with hydraulic service brake connections on each end of the machine to activate hydraulic service disc service brakes on rail carts
The lower undercarriage shall be equipped with hydraulic parking brake connections on each end of the machine to activate hydraulic emergency / park brakes on rail carts
The rail axles shall be set to run on 56.5" Track Gauge
Drawbar pull shall be at least 14,661 lbs (6650 kgf) for pulling a minimum cart capacity of 40,000 lbs.
Upper structure
Right and left hand exterior mirrors shall be standard
Window bars shall be provided to prevent contact with a moving boom
Tight tail swing design to prevent cab damage
A vandal locks with ignition key will be provided for: cab door; engine hood; fuel cap; and service doors
Swing Mechanism
Swing speed shall be no less than 10.5 rpm
Swing torque shall be no less than 12,244 lb ft (16 600 Nm)
The machines house Swing brake shall be wet disk, or equivalent, spring applied and hydraulically released
Boom and Arm
The boom shall have a minimum of three bulkheads for durability
To extend the life of the pivot joint bushings, they will be powdered metal oil impregnated
The end of the arm shall be coated to extend the life of the wear surface with tungsten carbide or equivalent material
Operators Station
The operator’s station shall be mounted on silicon fluid-filled elastic mounts
Auto climate control /air conditioner heater and pressurizer will be provided
The machine will monitor and display a minimum of the following indicators: engine air filter restriction, alternator voltage, check engine, engine oil pressure, engine coolant temperature and fuel level
The monitor shall be capable of showing machine diagnostic information including error messages, fault codes and system operating information.
An interior light shall be standard
The windshield wiper shall have intermittent speeds and built in washer with fluid.
Cab front windows - top and bottom shall be capable of opening
A pilot control shut-off lever will shut off hydraulic pilot pressure to all pilot control valves and will lock machine travel.
The seat shall be adjustable for: height; fore-aft; backrest; and headrest height
The engine shall perform self-diagnostic check at start up
