About this file
This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) sheet related to Solicitation W51AA1-24-Q-0111 for Scaffolding Services issued by the Department of the Army.
The Q&A addresses several technical questions about the scaffolding requirements, including the accessibility and locations of the specific objects to be scaffolded on the USS Tripoli (LHA-7) and USS Essex (LHD-2) vessels. Responses indicate that crane services will be coordinated by the agency, but scaffolding companies should have their own forklift capabilities or be prepared to have forklift services arranged. Attached pictures provide additional context on the scaffolding locations and surrounding conditions. The Q&A sheet does not provide details on response dates, pricing, set-asides, or other contracting specifics, as this appears to be a supplemental document to the main solicitation.

- Included from previous Question and Answer.
- New question and answer addition.
| Comment / Question | Technical Answer/Remarks | |
| 1 | Do quotes/proposals need to include crane or forklift services? | Crane services do not need to be a part of the proposal. Port Hueneme Division (PHD) will coordinate crane time for the scaffolding company to lift material on the ship and off. As for forklift services, the scaffolding companies usually have a forklift on their delivery truck. If a scaffolding company does not have a forklift, the cost does not need to be part of their proposal. PHD will accommodate coordinating forklift services if necessary. |
