About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for a federal contract opportunity with a Q&A deadline of April 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM CST. The document clarifies three key requirements for the solicitation.

The first response addresses site survey procedures, confirming that while site visits are possible, they are likely unnecessary as RIA personnel will handle equipment placement and installation. The second response clarifies Unique Item Identifier (IUID) marking requirements, confirming that the system should be registered as a single unit in the IUID registry with one ID Data Plate containing the IUID 2-D matrix applied to the primary component (air compressor), while each supporting component requires only its own OEM data tag. The third response specifies that the air system must meet ISO class 4 air quality standards and requires both pre and post filters on the dryer, clarifying a specification that was not explicitly detailed in the original solicitation documents.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Q&A)

Q&A DEADLINE: April 13, 2026, 10:00 AM CST NOTE: QUESTIONS SUBMITTED AFTER THE DEADLINE DATE WILL BE TAKEN ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AS LONG AS THEY ARE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY AND NOT ALREADY ANSWERED IN THE SOLICITATION.

NOTE: IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS THAT THE ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS DO NOT THEMSELVES CHANGE THE TERMS OF THE SOLICITATION AND THAT ANY CHANGES TO THE TERMS OF THE SOLICITATION ARE

EXPRESSLY AND SEPARATELY INDICATED AS SUCH.

1. We are working on this opportunity directly with the manufacturer. This will help us a lot to quote you accurately. We would appreciate it if you could allow us to conduct a site survey to determine site conditions and other factors related to the installation.

Please let us know if site survey is not possible then can you please share the site pictures?

RESPONSE: Although a site visit is possible, it is likely not necessary. RIA personnel will place and install the equipment into its end location.

2. For the IUID marking, in the attached Purchase Description document that it should be registered as one single system in the IUID registry, and the IUID 2-D matrix may be included on the ID Data Plate.

Given that IUIDs/UIDs are unique to one item (in this case the full system) it seems like we would NOT also reference the same IUID on each supporting component like the dryer or oil-water separator but just wanted to confirm this and/or there are no additional marking requirements for the supporting components.

In addition to the OEM data tags on each component, can you just confirm we only need one ID Data Plate with IUID 2-D matrix for the entire system? (i.e., one ID data plate for the whole system that is applied to the primary system component/the air compressor)

RESPONSE: Yes, what you have stated is correct. Each component needs a data tag but only the main component needs ID data plate and IUID matrix, which applies to system as a whole.

3. I do not see any call out specs for filtration on the dryer, such as pre and post filters. Is this a requirement?

RESPONSE: The system must meet ISO class 4 air quality standards. Pre and post filters are required.

Could you please provide the additional information requested by our vendor so we can quote this project accordingly?

RESPONSE: See above
