About this file

The file is a Questions and Answers document for the TEAD FY25 Water Jet solicitation (W519TC25R2020), providing clarifications on key procurement details. The document addresses vendor inquiries about the water jet system, confirming that the solicitation is open to OMAX or equivalent water jet systems, and not exclusively limited to the OMAX 80X-1/30V Abrasive Jet. Additional questions cover installation requirements, with the government indicating that Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) will be responsible for utility preparations, and that licensed trades may be needed for final utility terminations.

The Q&A document also addresses bonding requirements, suggesting that performance and payment bonds are expected for the equipment purchase. The solicitation remains focused on procuring a comprehensive water jet system with specific components, including a Collision Sensing Terrain Follower, EnduroMax Pump Spares Kit, and associated accessories. The procurement is a small business set-aside in the Fluid Power Pump and Motor Manufacturing category, with quotes due by 10:00 AM on April 29, 2025, and an anticipated 75-calendar day delivery timeline after contract award. The system requires 440-480VAC 3-Phase power and must have U.S.-manufactured hardware and software.

ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS

1Will licensing in Utah be required for plumbing and electrical?
Answer: It is believed the TEAD is responsible for the utilities to the water jet. The utilities will be stubbed to the machine and we can hook up the utilities when the machine is set in place. But if the contractor is the only one who can complete the final terminations per the requirements by the vendor we should have licensed trades do the work.
2Will performance and payment bonds be required?
Answer: This contract is for the water jet and shipping and set up. It is believed that bonds are required for equipment purchase.
