RFIs for Bldg 130 Renovation Project:

Q: The current drawings do not show ceramic wall tile. The photo’s from the other renovation show ceramic wall tile. Will the new locker room require ceramic wall tile?

A: Please refer to finish schedule on drawing A3 and details 1 and 2 on drawing A5. Walls will be painted gypsum board, and ceramic wall tile is only around locker island base.

Q: Are we to figure the Washer, Dryer, Microwave, and Refrigerator for this project?

A: No, those will be provided by the Government once the project is complete.

Q: I couldn't find a list of bathroom accessories on your prints. Some items were identified and others weren't. I didn't see any Mirrors with shelf over new sinks. I didn't see any toilet paper dispensers, Paper Towel dispenser or electric hand dryers, Soap dispenser, Grab Bars, etc. You may already have these items and are going to install with your forces. We need to know in order to figure the blocking, if in drywall/stud wall.

A: The government will purchase the Washer, dryer, microwave, refrigerator, and bathroom accessories such as toilet paper dispensers, Paper Towel dispenser or electric hand dryers, Soap dispenser, Grab Bars, and any mirrors not shown on prints.

Q: The carpet in front of the Counter at the Airfield Management Flight Service Center is coming out, but you didn't include in your Finish Room Schedule to put it back. Please clarify?

A: The finish schedule shows that carpet will be going back in front of the counter at Airfield Management.

Q: In room 118, we will be removing a wall and a shower base and cutting the floor to add a commode. There is no mention of patching the floor where the wall was or the floor at the shower drain area. I think you would want new vinyl tile from the outside of the wall to the back wall. Please clarify?

A: We will be revising the drawing to show a floor finish schedule for rm 118/119.

Q: Is there any sprinkler heads to be moved or added?

A: There is not any sprinkler or fire alarm work included in this.

Q: Are we to add fire alarm sensors in the renovated areas?

A: See above

Q: I didn't see emergency lighting on the electrical prints. Please advise.

A: No new emergency lighting.

Q: Can you provide existing ceiling heights at both locations as well as the height from FF to bottom of the floor deck above?

A: FF to bottom of deck is 12’5” Ceiling heights are listed in the drawing details.

Q: Demo note “A” #9 says relocate and reroute existing rain water conductors (RWC) please clarify and provide location and specifics ?

A: This note can be removed. The RWC was shown on old building drawings, but appears to not be present.

Q: Demo note “A” #7 contractor to remove all abandoned duct work and piping, is this from a previous reno, or just what we are causing to be abandoned for this project?

A: “Contractor shall remove any duct or piping abandoned as a result of this work”

Q: What is the unit’s weekend drill training schedule, what are those dates and how does it effect the work? All work areas to be in full operation for the training weekends, I am not sure that is possible?

A: Unit will not utilize areas under construction. Contractor to secure work areas during training weekends.

Q: Do you have a material spec for the ceramic tile?

A: Unglazed Porcelain tile complies with ANSI A137.1, and ANSI A108.02. 1/4 “ thickness, Face 2”x2”.

Q: Completion date 59 calendar days or work days from contract date:

A: Calendar days

Q: Domestic preference clause 52.225-9 are we to use American made materials as much as possible, or is it required, or is there a list of materials that it does not apply to?

A: We prefer American made supplies and materials as much as possible but have not identified anything specific for this project. We review material submittals after contract award and may identify specific materials that we prefer during the project.
