B113 FFE Furniture Package Q & A

1. For the Room 111 - Systems Panel Plan is there a plan for anchors to be installed? A concern for the plans is if the panels are installed without anchors they will tip over creating a hazardous situation or is it assumed with the installation of the panels that they will come with anchors?

A: The panel layout is designed with “wing” panels as supports, but if the vendor deems it necessary to attach panels to the walls, they will need to show the specific locations of attachments in the requested panel plan.

Included in the FF+E specifications package is a panel plan for room 111. The panel layout is shown to be freestanding with “wing” panels at 90 degrees to the long run of panels. The wings serve at the supports so that panels do not need to be attached to the walls. The wings also allow for consistent alignment and spacing of the offices and work areas. The specifications request a detailed panel plan be provided by the bidder for confirmation of the layout as proposed by the manufacturer the bidder is submitting. Each panel manufacturer seems to have different dimensions of panels with different structural and support requirements which are to be specifically identified in the bid submittals.

2. Regarding the furniture items that we are pricing out (i.e desks, bookcases, work tables etc). Do they need to be in HPL or wood?

A: They need to be wood for desks, bookcases, and tables in enclosed offices and HPL for desks and work tables in open spaces.

3. Our well trusted supplying partner mentioned that a few of these pieces of furniture are not from the USA and are from China/others countries. Are we looking for an American made equivalent or will the China/other country made product be eligible for the contract still?

A: Products from other countries are fine, as long as they are not on the prohibited list referenced in FAR 25.701, Restrictions administered by the Department of the Treasury on acquisitions of supplies or services from prohibited sources. Also, the picture provided is simply a visual aid. The item must meet the salient features and the specifications listed.

4. Item BENCH-001 the dimensions say 70" L x 60" W and the description says 10 foot long, do you want 2 60" benches to make a 10 foot long bench? revised documentation for clarity.

5. CHR-005 and CHR-005-420 says "Include 6 dollies" . Do you want us to quote 6 dollies total or 6 dollies for each part number? or no dollies at all? Why are the dollies not a separate item? Dollies are not needed for CHR-005 or CHR-005-420

6. TBL-007-420, Conference table says veneer top and also laminate top, please advise on the correct finishes, also, the 2 tables with logo (different logo for each have the same item number) See attached documents for revised specifications.

8. we have a question regarding TBL-006. Could you please clarify if you want wood veneer or laminate for this table, please? The description references both, so we want to be clear.

11. HTCH-001: On the spec sheet only qty of 4 in Rm 111 is noted on the drawing you also have 1 in Rm 121.
